Vintage Mexican Silver Amethyst Turquoise Necklace Set. 19.5 with the pendant dropping another 5 3/4. At its widest point (necklace), 3/4. Mark Mexico, 925 on the necklace and earrings. On the necklace and earrings. Sterling Silver, natural Turquoise, Coral and Amethyst.

This necklace and earrings set is finely made, is of a high quality and the design is influenced by Matilde Poulat. I would guess that the Turquoise and Coral was dyed and while the necklace is not particularly thick - it has an extremely full profile and has a very dramatic and detailed look when worn. The natural Amethyst is a rich and deep purple color, the central stone is domed in shape and measures 5/8. The three stones below have a pyramid cut that is a subtle but nice design detail. The drops at the bottom dangle freely giving the necklace some movement and sway when worn.

There are no irregularities to the silver, all of the stones are intact without chipping or surface wear and they all look original to the piece. The silver is bright and fresh looking and shows off all the pretty silverwork. Overall this is a finely made and colorful, silver and gemstone necklace and earrings set, that was made in Mexico during the 1980. S or after and is in Excellent condition.
