Vintage Taxco Mexico Sterling Silver Signed Los Castillo 4 piece Set

Vintage Signed Los Castillo Mosaico Azteca Mexican Sterling Silver Bracelet, Pin and Earrings Set. Marks: Bracelet, Pin and Earrings are Each Signed with the same marks (as pictured): LOS CASTILLO TAXCO, MOSAICO AZTECA, STERLING MADE IN MEXICO, EAGLE 15, 208. Total Weight of Bracelet: 21.3 grams Total weight of Pin: 8 grams Total weight of Earrings: 10.1 grams. Size: The bracelet is approximately 6.75"length x 1/2"w. The bracelet has 6 articulating links which have been slightly rounded, and connected with o rings, which enable this bracelet to fit comfortably on the wrist.

The links of the bracelet match the earrings in size and design, except for the links of the bracelet are smaller (a bit rounded to lay on the wrist). Each earring is approximately 1.25"length x 3/4"w at the widest area, which is a tad larger than the links of the bracelet since the earrings have not been rounded. The design of the pin incorporates the design of the link of the earrings and the bracelet links, but the pin has an added bit of flair. The pin is 1.25"h x 1 3/8"w. The bracelet has a locking clasp closure with safety chain.

The earrings have screw back closures. Condition: All four pieces are in very good condition. There are a few cracks in the turquoise and lapis stone inlay work, but there is no stone loss. Hand made, hand crafted, this is a beautiful example of the design artistry, stone inlay and silversmith work of Los Castillo. In the 1930s and 1940s and 1950s, Mexico gave the world some of the most wonderful deco designs, many of which have been repeatedly copied - which is a high complement - but this set is the real deal.

Each one of the four pieces is marked. Screwback earrings can be modified for pierced ears or changed to clip-ons by a jeweler (however, please ask your jeweler to have the maker's marks remain legible).
