Vintage Sterling Silver Edwardian Dainty Moonstone Cabochon Hook Drop Earrings. A beautiful pair of antique Edwardian / Art Deco era earrings, for pierced ears, a drop design.

Made of sterling silver, and each elegantly bezel set with 4 tiny genuine moonstone cabochons. The moonstones are nothing short of stunning, absolutely wonderful examples with a'glassy' look from the side and blue adularescence (flash) across the front. Each moonstone measures approximately 6-7 mms tall. A lovely dainty pair with an ethereal glow that you only seem to find in old moonstones.

Each earring measures 2.2 cms tall from the top of the hook to the bottom of the drop. Together the earrings weigh 1.6 grams. Both are unmarked but have been tested, confirmed as sterling silver.

I have photographed the earrings on light and dark backgrounds, to help you see the adularescence in different lights. In good antique condition, with just minimal light tarnish and faint surface scratches.

The ear wires are likely later replacements for the originals. Please note that the earring box in the photo is for display only and is not included in the sale. Please pay attention to the written sizes given as the photographs have been taken close up to show detail - which may also make the item appear bigger than in person.
