Vintage Squash Blossom Necklace & Earrings, Sterling & Rare Lime Green Turquoise

  

The silver is adorned with brilliant green turquoise. My research indicates this is lime green turquoise and nice pieces are hard to find.

I never thought I would sell it but life happens and people should never say never. The necklace is accompanied by a matching pair of clip-on earrings. All of the pieces need some cleaning but I will leave that loving chore to the next owner. Otherwise condition is excellent no dents, bends, dings or damage.

The set weighs 148 grams. The necklace measures 26 inches long. The naja measures an additional 2-1/2 inches by 2 inches across.

This squash blossom is not the heaviest or largest one out there. It is however one of the most striking you will ever come across.

The silversmith managed to create a very substantial, yet very feminine, work-of-art using silver and a very organic green turquoise. It came with the original presentation box (I kept the box but displayed the necklace in my china cabinet contributing to the tarnish). The box is marked Silversmithing By Mervyn and each piece is signed with a very simplistic MS. A scrap of paper inside the box identifies the original owner and Santa Fe, Green Valley. It will be difficult to part with this necklace it is one of my favorite things.

However, my sis and I have retired and are building a home in the country. We need to downsize AND our interests are changing. Raising chickens and growing vegetables doesnt require much in the sparkle and bling department so check our other listings for some great jewelry (including that big turquoise bracelet) and antiques that have been collected over the last 40 years.
