Vintage Norway Sterling Silver Grete Prytz Kittelsen J Tostrup Earrings. These lovely earrings were designed by one of Norway's most esteemed designers, Grete Prytz Kittlesen, said to be one of the most original and talented designers in Scandinavia, working in metal and enamel. Her work for Cathrineholm and J Torstrup are the best known.

She was born in 1917 and was on her death in 2010 her obituary deemed her the Queen of Scandinavian Design. These earrings are part of a suite of jewellery in this brutalistic design that comprised of at least a bracelet, earrings and brooches. The earrings are clearly marked J Tostrup Sterling Norway and have been converted from screw fitting to drops from simple sterling silver hooks.

Each has a scalloped edge and an oxidised finish to the machine patterned backing. The circle design is bright polished silver. The earrings are 50mm from the base of the hooks and 14mm wide.
