He worked with him for 8 years before going out on his own in 1941 and attending a trade school in order to refine his craftsmanship. He went on to become the preeminent proponent & producer of Mexican Modernism in the decorative arts. He was praised praised for his bold, striking jewelry designs and ingenious use of gemstones. Antonio died in 2009 at the age of 90.
