The Victorian Period is famous for its very rare & elegant hard to find designs!

Puffy jewelry is a word given to the hollow repousse style jewelry that was made from the mid 1800's to the 1950's. This type of jewelry was very difficult and very hard to make, and not much has survived the years. Repoussé began as an ancient metal working technique, involving malleable silver first formed with a specially created three-dimensional mold and then further refined by hammering from the reverse side and adding detail to the front.

The finished work was intricate, with grooves, indentation and channeling. It was then carefully polished as an eye-catching treasure. The clip on's on the back are not silver, but base metal. The earrings include beautiful handmade craftsmanship from the Victorian Era. The earrings have repousse hand hammered silver work throughout in the shapes of hearts as well as Victorian Era scroll work across the front of the earrings.

The earrings measure 1 and 1/4 in diameter. The earrings include clip on's for pierced and non pierced ears. Antique and Vintage jewelry is disappearing at alarming rates.
