At the base of each arm of the star is a beautiful Paste Stone, cleverly set inside a small, stamped star. This is a gorgeous set in excellent condition, with a real attention to detail and craftsmanship. A wonderfully wearable piece of history!

This beautiful piece was made during a period called the Art Nouveau Era! This time was also called "La Belle Epoque" in French which translates to A Beautiful Time. This was very true due to the gorgeous designs that came out of this period.

The Arts and Crafts movement began after the Victorian Era and is generally viewed hand-in-hand with the Art Nouveau Era. Both of these movements were a vast departure from that of the Victorian Era. With the birth of the industrial revolution and the possibility of machine made jewelry, craftsmen began to explore new designs.

These men formed guilds where they created new and artistic designs, inspired by the Far East, Grecian Eras, and other areas around the world. In 1724, French jewel designer Georges Frédéric Strass came up with paste, a kind of leaded glass that he cut and polished with metal powder until it appeared to shimmer like a diamond in the light.
