Handmade during the Art Deco era in the Byzantine Bali style. Each earring consists of a hollow hoop created using repousse metalworking techniques to hand-hammer sterling silver into the desired shape.

The hoops feature wrapped coil designs and granulated beads. Lever backings make these earrings suitable for pierced ears. Tarnish on the sterling silver gives this piece an antique quality which we believe is quite lovely. The lever backings are slightly bent due to the age of the piece; however, this does not affect wear. The price has been reduced to reflect this.

Repoussé began as an ancient metalworking technique dating as far back as the 3rd century BC, involving malleable metal that was hammered onto the reverse side to create an image on the front. Examples are found all over the world; Greece, Egypt, and even the Hopewell periods in the American southeast. Reverse side hammering was also used to add detail to the front, creating intricate patterns using grooves, indentations, and channeling.
