This is the price a piece would be worth if stripped down and melted to its bare materials. This beautiful pair of earrings comes from the Art Deco Era! The Art Deco Era is famous for being the "Gatsby" or "Roaring Twenties" Era.

A lot of gorgeous and timeless designs in jewelry came out of this period. During the Art Deco Period jewelers often made jewelry upon custom order, this would often take weeks to months to completely craft by hand.

During the Art Deco & Art Nouveau Era's Moonstone was brought into jewelry by designers such as Tiffany's & Rene Lalique. Moonstone is often symbolized with the moon due to the Opalescent hue that it gives off that reminds the viewer of the moon peering through a thin layer of clouds. The earrings are marked "925" to represent Sterling Silver, along with a maker's mark that is quite hard to read.

It is either a music note or a fancy cursive P, I cannot tell which. One of the Moonstones has a crack on the backside of the stone.

The crack is small and the integrity of the stone is not affected by it, but please be aware that it is there. These unique earrings feature an oval shaped Moonstone. The stones are cabochon cut and polished, and sit within bezel settings in the center of the earrings. The stones have a white-clear base color with a purple and blue glow when the stone is turned under light.

There are lots of natural inclusions and striations in each stone. One of the stones is more cloudy than the other. The earrings are crafted out of solid sterling silver and are completely handmade. The thick, quality silver border around the bezel was left untouched to really draw your attention to the Moonstones. The earrings measure 1 and 1/8" tall by slightly over 1/2" wide. The Moonstones measure 1/2" tall by just under 3/8" wide. The design includes Shepard's style hooks that latch at the bottom for added security.

925, illegible maker's mark (music note or fancy "P"). White/Clear, flashes of purple and blue when turned under light. Sizable by Your Local Jeweler. Due to the age of some of these pieces, some items will not be stamped. The National Stamping Act was not enacted until 1906, before 1906 jewelry was not legally required to have a karat mark. This is one way to date items prior to the Art Nouveau time period.
