These gorgeous earrings were handmade by a Portuguese artisan. The earrings feature sparkly swirl motifs composed of hand twisted cannetille metalworking. The earrings have applied bands of metals with varying angles adorning them, which serve to catch and reflect light as the earrings move. These earrings are large and certain to catch the eye. It is made by twisting fine gold or silver wire into spirals and is typically enhanced by granulation, thinly stamped metals, and colorful gemstones. Cannetille jewelry became very popular during the Victorian era and was inspired by French embroidery that used spirals of thread to create beautiful lace designs.
